After the guide wires are installed you re ready to hang your string lights.
Place planters upside down on a drop cloth and cover completely with spray paint.
Mark the spots on the trees and drill guide holes.
For maximum support use a zip tie on either side of each socket in lieu of using the loop on the socket.
If you used a mounting wire clip the lights onto the wire.
Clip off the excess plastic.

With a helper string the lights from one tree to the next holding them carefully to make sure the holes are the right distance apart.

Work your way across the yard to hang the string lights between mounts following the pattern you envisioned.
