Hello i was hoping someone could give me a bit of advice as i m about to start building a mono pitch roof over my new single storey side extension to my existing house.
How to build a mono pitch garage roof.
I am fairly confident i will be able to do this myself but have a few questions regarding timber sizes and fixings.
The walls are almost up and i want to try my hand at forming the roof structure.
That would sure be difficult to do on such a large building so must not be what you mean.
Want most of the doors in the end of the building not on the side.

Snow can build up against the lower roof wall and cause dampness or rot in the wall.
One major advantage of this kind of roof is that on a building which is free standing the mono pitched roof would have the ability to extend back without the need of an internal gutter.

Fast run off of rain or snow can cause ground erosion behind the shed.
It is only a small roof over the garage spanning approximately 1 5m from wall to wall.
Apart from serving as the roofing of garage straw shed of grain stores mono pitch roofing has successfully made its way into the main house.
Lay a thick layer of cement on existing brick work then place the wall plate on this and get a good level.
Line up wall plate against existing joists and make a mark on the wall plate in line with the centre of the joists.
This is part two of the porch build where i am doing the roof.
I show how i construct it showning in detail how to do the lead flashing.
My version of mono slope roof means a lean too look just one slope to it not peaked or anything.
Drill holes at these marks to allow a 6 nail to be driven through the wall plate into the joists.
Robin is working on an extension so we thought we d shadow him for the day and see how he creates a pitched roof or semi pitched roof leading up to a flat.
