Step one choose a gutter type you can either choose to have someone manufacture seamless gutters for you or you can buy your gutter in 10 foot sections at the home improvement store near you. Follow some simple steps to complete this improvement. Measure the fascia to determine the length of the gutter. Mount the gutters to the fascia brackets.

At the mark point on the gutter use the marker to trace the opening for the downspout outlet. Seal the outlet with the gutter sealant. With the hammer chisel a v shape into the metal large enough to permit you to use the tin snips to cut out the rest. Lay your gutter into the fascia brackets that you attached to the rafter tails.

Snap a chalk line across the fascia creating the proper pitch toward the downspout end. Apply gutter sealant to an end cap then press the cap onto one end of the gutter. Snap the sections together. Adding gutters and downspouts to your home is a great way to increase the livability and add to the value of your home.

Cut a two inch long notch in the front lip of the gutter with tin snips to join a rain gutter section. Rotate your gutter upward pushing it away from you until the edge closest to the fascia fastens into the hook on the back of the bracket. Place this section of gutter on a flat solid surface.
